LeBron James' days as a villain are done. He returned to Cleveland and brought them to the NBA Finals after spurning them in 2010 and winning two titles with the Heat, and now he's helping struggling Akron youths go to college.

James, who famously did not go to college, has recognized that not everyone has the goods to be the best basketball player on the planet. That's why he's footing the bill for all the kids who complete his "I Promise" challenge, according to Yahoo.

LeBron's Relationship With David Blatt Won't Cost Coach His Job

''These students have big dreams, and I'm happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They're going to have to earn it, but I'm excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures," James said.

Don't confuse James for Oprah though. He's not handing out scholarships like candy. The qualifications are still being determined, but the requirements will include coming up through Akron's public school system, meeting standardized test results, and community service.

Klay Thompson Says Stephen Curry Is Really The Best In The World

''It means so much because, as a kid growing up in the inner city and a lot of African-American kids, you don't really think past high school,'' said James, who skipped high school to go pro.

''You don't really know your future. You hear high school all the time, and you graduate high school and then you never think past that because either it's not possible or your family's not financially stable to even be able to support a kid going to college.''

In addition to making the Cavaliers a relevant franchise again and giving Akron kids a chance to succeed, James may also help save the planet from aliens. People who grew up in the 90s might cringe, but James is in talks to star in Space Jam 2, a reboot of Michael Jordan's famous collab with the Looney Tunes, per Deadspin.

It shouldn't be too hard for James to lead the Looney Tunes past a group of NBA talents-he basically did that for the entire NBA Finals.
