Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET the Jets will open up their preseason slate on the road vs. the Lions in Detroit, in a game that can be live streamed free by clicking this link. Jets fans can listen to the game on 98.7 ESPN New York, while Lions fans may do likewise on WXYT 1270.

The Jets will walk on to the field as the most buzzed-about team in football thanks to ex-Jet IK Enemkpali punching starting quarterback Geno Smith in a locker room fight, breaking his jaw. Smith is now out for 6-10 weeks, and Ryan Fitzpatrick will have all eyes on him. Enemkpali was released immediately following the incident, and picked up by Rex Ryan and the Bills.

3 Things To Know About IK Enemkpali

Fitzpatrick will have a level of familiarity with the offense thanks to Chan Gailey, the new Jets offensive coordinator and former head coach for Fitzpatrick with the Bills. He started 12 games for the Texans last season, throwing 17 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

Fitzpatrick will be joined by wide receiver Brandon Marshall in making his Gang Green debut, and Jets fans can also expect rookie quarterback Bryce Petty to get a lot of playing time. For now, he's the No. 2 QB on the depth chart.

Jets & Bills Both Pass On Michael Vick

The Lions will mostly be hoping they can stay healthy, but this will be Detroit fans' first look at the new defense. Gone are stud defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. Haloti Ngata has been signed to fill the void, but the team's heart will now be linebacker DeAndre Levy, who signed a four-year, $33 million contract this offseason.
