Barack Obama celebrates his 54th birthday on Tuesday and the 44th president of the United States has seen his fair share of gifts from athletes throughout the years - even when it isn't his birthday.

The tradition of championship teams visiting the White House is always a fun event and the president has hosted several Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup and NBA champs during his tenure in the White House.

The winning teams always come bearing gifts for the president, and in honor of his birthday, Sports World News will take a look back at 10 memorable photos of Obama with notable athletes.

The president has hosted NFL stars like Eli Manning and Tom Brady, MLB athletes like 2014 World Series hero Madison Bumgarner and the since-retired Derek Jeter, the NBA's best in LeBron James and Kobe Bryant and the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews.

Obama has proclaimed himself a supporter of the NBA's Bulls, the NFL's Bears and the MLB's White Sox, all of whom hail from Chicago, where he got his start as a senator.

The president even threw out the first pitch for the White Sox when he was a senator during the 2005 American League Championship Series.

The White Sox went onto win the series in five games and then swept away the Houston Astros to clinch the 2005 World Series.

As president, Obama also threw out the first pitch at the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis.
