What They're Saying
USA head coach Tab Ramos (via FIFA): "We played a type of game that we normally are not used to playing. It was an open game. We tried hard and did a good job considering that we kept a couple of players off today, like [Rubio] Rubin. We had to go and search for [the result] but I had to take the central midfielder [captain Emerson Hyndman] off, so we weren't playing at full strength at the end. You obviously want to come in first place, but any team we play now is gonna be a good team."
Colombia head coach Carlos Restrepo (via FIFA): "I feel that it's a shame that it was a mistake that put us behind on the scoresheet too quickly. It was a very hard emotional blow, given the high hopes we'd had for this game [against Portugal]. And from that point on we needed to work the game through, but being a goal down already... In the second half we decided to take more risks, we introduced an attacking player for a defensive one, but then we made another mistake that led to a goal. It turned out to be very difficult to get our heads back up after that."
