Fans of the Fast and Furious franchise speed to theaters in droves to watch Vin Diesel and his band of borderline superheroes rev up the action and pump the brakes on bad guys. There's already a release date-start your engines on April 14, 2017-and one key figure is returning to the track. You can guess who it will be by using your olfactory senses; Do you smell what Luke Hobbs is cookin'?

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has announced he will return for the eighth installment of this franchise, but hasn't said which move from his WWE repertoire will appear. SPOILER ALERT: In Furious 7 baddie Jason Statham was crushed with a "Rock Bottom" through a glass table less than 20 minutes into the film.

"Of course. Can't go on without Hobbs," Johnson said.

There is also talk about Johnson changing lanes, and developing his own Hobbs franchise apart from the original films.

"I just had a big conversation with the studio, so we'll see. I still think for me personally, we create a little bit of space from seven and gauge what the audience will want and go from there. That's my take on it. Now a lot of other people have their own say," Johnson said.

Perhaps Johnson may hold off on the big-screen debut of the "People's Elbow" for his own slate of Hobbs movies.

While Furious 8 already has a finish line for completion, the rest of the crew hasn't been rounded out. There haven't been any confirmations from Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges or Jordana Brewster. There have also been no indications about which big names from outside the franchise will be brought in.

In the last two films alone, women's mixed martial arts stars Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey have taken part.
