The Philadelphia Eagles were expected to be the primary challengers for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East in 2015 based on how last season played out. After a tumultuous offseason, opinions are now considerably more mixed about Philadelphia's chances of success in the upcoming season.

Race Driving Chip Kelly's Roster Decisions?

According to Pro Football Talk, one former Eagles star does not think that there should be much debate on the subject. DeSean Jackson spoke out about his release prior to last season and LeSean McCoy being traded this offseason, saying that both players ended up better off in Washington and Buffalo, respectively.

"Honestly, I'm further along than that," Jackson said. "It's been two years since I've been removed from the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm just excited and happy where I'm at. I don't really want to get too caught up in what's going on over there in Philadelphia. LeSean McCoy is one of my great friends and he's a great running back - he's one of the best in the league - and I look at myself as one of the best receivers in the league."

Peyton Manning Not Done After 2015?

"So as far as being removed from there," Jackson continued, "I can't understand, why would you get rid of your best players on the team? But it's their loss. Moving forward, the teams we're with now is the teams that's winning, the teams that's gaining more of a respect of having them type of guys on the team."

While it seems unlikely that Washington will be better than Philadlephia this year, Buffalo does have a real shot at making the playoffs, and the Eagles have taken a step backward in the eyes of many, which could give Dallas an easy route to a second consecutive division title.
