It appears that Braxton Miller isn’t going to make Urban Meyer’s starting quarterback decision any easier.

Meyer, head coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, enters preseason with three incredibly talented quarterbacks in Miller, Cardale Jones, and J.T. Barrett. Any one of them would be a shoo-in starter for dozens of other programs, but only one can stand under center on Sundays in Columbus.

Miller’s a fifth year senior, and thus can transfer programs without sitting out a season. Because of that, many assumed he’d leave OSU to go to the SEC (LSU and Alabama both have QB vacancies), rather than risk sitting on the bench in his final year of eligibility. However, Meyer to The Dan Patrick Radio Show that he thinks Miller is very much remaining a Buckeye.

"That surfaced in January and I asked him and he said, 'Absolutely not,'" Meyer said, via Cleveland.com. "Obviously, young people or anyone is allowed to change their mind. I have not heard that. I did not ask him, one of our strength coaches did, and he said, 'I don't know where that's coming from.'

"So I would say Braxton is staying, is all indications that I'm getting. I don't go by hearsay. I just talk to the people involved and he seems to be very happy and excited for 2015 as a Buckeye."

Miller is by no means out of the running for the Buckeyes’ starting gig, but many believe he has an outside shot at the moment rather than the clear path. Both Miller and JT Barrett are returning from season-ending injuries, so Cardale Jones has received the bulk of the snaps in 2015 thus far.
