Tonight at 10 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks skate against each other in Game 2 of their Western Conference Round 1 Stanley Cup playoff series live from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Calgary is looking to take a 2-0 series lead with it back home while Vancouver hopes to overcome its Game 1 setback and nod up the series at one game apiece.

The Flames were lifted over the Canucks by a late Game 1 goal that gave them a 1-0 series lead.

With the teams deadlocked in a 1-1 tie on Wednesday and the game seemingly destined for overtime, Flames defenseman Kris Russell scored with 30 seconds left and Calgary held on for a 2-1 victory to take a 1-0 series lead.

"It was huge to come in and get the first game," Calgary defenseman Dennis Wideman, who assisted on the game-winner, said after practice Thursday, according to NHL.com. "I think that the first win is tough. It was obviously a tall task for us to come in and get that. For us to get that, it was big. We were happy about it last night, but we've got a big one again [Friday]."

David Jones scored the other goal for Calgary in the third period after Bo Horvat put the Canucks on the board first in the middle frame.

The Canucks know a lot of pressure is on them not to leave for Calgary trailing 2-0 in the series, but they're taking a confident approach to Game 2.

"I think all year after a loss or a couple of losses, we always come back with a big game and I think tomorrow we look at that as a must win," Canucks forward Daniel Sedin told NHL.com.

The question for Vancouver relies in the crease as the Canucks may go back to Eddie Lack after a mostly solid Game 1 performance or could return to Roberto Luongo for the first time since the regular season finale.

Lack stopped 28 of 30 shots he faced on Wednesday while Luongo returned from a knee injury in the regular season finale last Saturday and allowed five goals in a 6-5 victory over the lowly Edmonton Oilers.

For the Flames, it will likely once again be Jonas Hiller who yielded just one goal and stopped 29 shots.

Sean Monahan (shoulder) didn't take part in Thursday's optional skate, but he is expected to play.

The Flames look to take a 2-0 series lead while the Canucks try to nod things up when the puck drops on Game 2 of their Western Conference Round 1 series live from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
