Aaron Hernandez has been fingered as the triggerman in the execution-style slaying of Odin Lloyd, according Blacksportnews.com.
The website reports that Carlos Ortiz told police he, Hernandez, Lloyd and Ernest Wallace were riding together in a car driven by Hernandez on the night Lloyd was killed when the other three men got out of the car and he heard gunshots. Seconds later, he alleges, Hernandez and Wallace returned to the vehicle without Lloyd and sped away.
The website also reports Ortiz told police that after picking Lloyd up that night, the men headed back to Hernandez’s North Attleborough mansion. During the ride over, Hernandez reportedly complained to Lloyd about “chilling” with people Hernandez didn’t care for.
Minute later, Ortiz told police the two men shook hands and he thought the dispute had been settled. It’s at that point, Ortiz alleges, that the three men exited the vehicle.
The 23-year-old Hernandez is being held without bond and the New England Patriots have severed all ties with the former All Pro tight end. Police recently searched a nearby “flop house” also rented by Hernandez, where they reportedly recovered a hooded sweatshirt and baseball hat he was said to be wearing that night.
Also on Tuesday, newly released documents about searches conducted in connection with the case revealed police found a “FEG Hungarian rifle” stuffed in a duffel bag on the back seat of a vehicle parked in Hernandez’s garage.
Ortiz also remains jailed on a firearm possession charge and Wallace is being on an accessory to murder charge.
