Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager (GM) Omar Khan didn't hesitate to scout out potential draft picks for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The two met with three of Ohio State's highest-ranked prospects — running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson and quarterback Will Howard — shortly before the Buckeyes' Pro Day on Wednesday.

Steelers Eyeing RBs and QBs in Mid-Rounds

With Najee Harris, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson departing the team, the Steelers will most likely fill these vital holes using their mid-round draft picks. Although nothing is definite, their visit with Henderson, Judkins, and Howard indicates a keen desire to bring in-depth running back and quarterback, according to Steelers reporter Gerry Dulac.

Henderson and Judkins are being estimated as third- to fourth-round draft picks, whereas Howard is projected to go in the fifth round. If the Steelers hold their ground, they could choose to concentrate on fortifying their defensive line, receiving corps, or cornerback spot with their first-round draft pick.

TreVeyon Henderson: Dynamic and Established Player

TreVeyon Henderson, who is 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, enjoyed a four-year stint at Ohio State. He rushed for 3,761 yards and 42 touchdowns on 6.4 yards per carry.

Even after injuries plagued him in past seasons, Henderson rebounded in 2023 to guide the Buckeyes to a national championship with a 7.1 yards-per-carry average. His 75-yard touchdown reception in Ohio State's playoff victory over Texas demonstrated his game-breaking potential.

Quinshon Judkins: Reliable SEC Performer

Quinshon Judkins, a 6-foot, 218-pound power back, began his college career at Ole Miss before moving to Ohio State. As a freshman, he paced the SEC with 1,567 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. He again ran wild in 2023, rushing for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns in his only season with the Buckeyes.

According to CBS Sports, Judkins' 100-yard effort and three-touchdown performance against Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff championship only helped strengthen his case as a prime mid-round prospect.

Will Howard: Big Ten's Top Signal-Caller

Will Howard, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound quarterback, completed his Ohio State college career after transferring there from Kansas State. In his last season, Howard paced the Big Ten in completion percentage (73%), passing yards (4,010), and touchdown passes (35). Howard displayed composure through the Buckeyes' playoff stint, going 75.2% on his attempts with eight touchdowns and two interceptions, averaging 287.5 passing yards a game.

With these rumored drafts, the Steelers are no doubt going for their Round 1 plan of picking defensive players for the 2025 NFL Draft.
