The Adrian Peterson saga continues to drag on, but he is meeting and might even hear about his reinstatement this week, which should help move things along. Peterson has made it clear that he wants out of Minnesota, and the team has thus far steadfastly refused to accomodate his wishes.
Chip Kelly Disrespecting Star Players?
The team obviously does not have to move him, and they would only do so via trade. Releasing Peterson would put a lot of dead money on their cap, and it would obviously hurt the team. However, getting fair value for a player that has made it clear that he wants to leave can also be a difficult proposition. And in case anybody was unclear about Peterson's feelings regarding his future, he talked about them again this week.

The full quote reads, "I am anxious to start a new chapter and get on with the rest of my life." Peterson also said that he is eager to share what he and his family have had to endure throughout the disciplinary process while dealing with the league.
RG3's Starting Role To Be Jeopardized By Newborn?
While there is no indication yet of what might happen at the meetings today between Peterson and the NFL, commissioner Roger Goodell has previously said that before he reinstates Peterson, he wants to be sure that the star back feels remorse for his actions toward his son and that he has taken steps to become a better father to all of his children.
If Peterson is reinstated, it could once again heat up the hot stove surrounding him, as the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys are still believed to have interest in trading for the former MVP.
