New revelations from Jonathan Taylor's arrest for domestic violence that, if true, cast the former Alabama Crimson Tide football player's situation in a different light.

Alabama DT Arrested on Suspicion of Domestic Violence

Taylor was taken into custody last Saturday night after police officers found probable cause that he had struck his girlfriend and punched a hole in a door inside an off-campus Tuscaloosa apartment.

Taylor was kicked off the Crimson Tide football team the next day, with head coach Nick Saban citing a zero tolerance mindset. Taylor had been removed from the Georgia Bulldogs football team earlier in his career due to an episode of domestic violence.

However, now reports indicate that the girlfriend may have embellished the incident, as a form of revenge against infidelity on Taylor's part.

According to the Associated Press, the 24-year-old woman said in a deposition this week that her bruises were self-inflicted, and that the damaged door was already there.

“She made it up to get back at him for cheating on her in December and she thought he was cheating again,” the deposition said.

Where the young lady is now being truthful or whether she's covering for Taylor's actual offenses is something for the legal process to continue to figure out.
