Although Manziel didn’t specify that he was headed to rehab for drugs or alcohol, his hard-partying ways did concern members of the organization. Manziel was unprepared for his starting job in Week 15, and his drinking caused him to become involved in numerous off-field incidents such as fighting and missing practices.

Cleveland said at the time that the former Heisman winner "knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member and friend." And now it sounds like he has taken that mandate to heart.

Of course, it all begins on the field. If Manziel plays like the star quarterback his college pedigree would indicate he's capable of, the Browns will welcome him back with open arms. Should he continue to struggle with responsibility and performance in year two, he may be out of the league soon.
