Dog Buries Puppy In Iraq [VIDEO], Unknown If Animals Were Related

A tear-inducing, yet heart-warming video has emerged from Iraq of a medium-sized spotted dog stumbling across another, smaller dog on the ground clearly dead. In an act that is surprisingly human, the dog then begins pawing at the dirt.

The dog that was alive had begun digging a hole in the ground, as it was about to bury its passed-away fellow species member. After giving the ground a bit more depth, it began tossing dirt on the body with its paws and nose, slowly but surely covering the deceased dog.

The video is nearly four minutes long, and the compassionate canine doesn't cut any corners in the burial. It relentlessly covers every inch of the dead dog in a sad but also beautiful act that many humans are not decent enough to partake.

The only information available comes in the title of the video, which indicates the puppy's impromptu funeral takes place in Iraq. It is unknown whether the two dogs were related, but the careful, measured pace of the dog's thorough dirt-sifting shows an animal in mourning.

Once the puppy was completely covered, and likely safe from detection by scavenging creatures, the dog turned and walked away, the ultimate respect paid.
