Fantasy football owners everywhere are saying, "So that's what happened to LeSean McCoy in 2014!"

ESPN.com was the first to report that the Philadelphia Eagles traded their star running back, seemingly still in his prime at age 27, to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso, the runner-up for Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2013.

ESPN reported that McCoy was going to count $11.95 million against their cap, facilitating the move. It added a tweet from McCoy's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who denied a trade had been completed. The report added that McCoy was unhappy with the move, saying the former University of Pittsburgh star was unhappy to be leaving Pennsylvania.

"He's a Pennsylvania kid. He's never played football outside of Pennsylvania -- high school, college, pro," the source told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "So of course he's not happy."

The source added that McCoy is "frustrated" and is "not going to make it easy, that's for sure."

But former NFL running back and current NFL analyst LaDainian Tomlinson said on NFL Total Access that McCoy had said the move was inevitable, nj.com reported.

"I had a chance to talk to LeSean McCoy a few weeks ago, and he expressed to me he did not think he was coming back to Philly next season," Tomlinson said Tuesday night. "He talked about [how] he and Chip Kelly's relationship had become a little strained, and he just did not think Philly was committed to him. He actually thought Chip kind of phased him out of the offense at times last year. He felt the writing was on the wall that they were trying to move on this offseason, and sure enough we have this trade today."

While McCoy had a solid year statistically in 2014 - rushing for 1,319 yards with five touchdowns - he actually produced nearly 700 fewer yards from scrimmage and scored fewer than half the touchdowns he had in 2013.

McCoy had 2,146 yards from scrimmage, including 1,607 rushing yards and 539 receiving yards, scoring 11 touchdowns in '13.
