Dez Bryant will likely receive the franchise tag from the Dallas Cowboys today, as the two sides have so far been unable to reach an agreement on a long-term extension for the star wide receiver. Recently, speculation has heated up that the reason Bryant does not have a huge deal from Dallas is because the Cowboys are worried about the possible release of an allegedly incriminating video.

All sorts of rumors about the video have made the rounds over the past two weeks, and although everyone agrees that the video shows Bryant committing a very serious unsavory act, there is still no consensus on whether there is an actual video. You can put at least one former Cowboys coach in the "does not believe it exists" camp.

According to TMZ, Rob Ryan, the former defensive coordinator for Dallas, is standing up for his former player, saying that he thinks the rumors about the alleged tape are garbage.

"That's a bunch of bull," Ryan said. "Dez is an awesome guy. He's a great competitor and probably the best receiver in football."

Ryan is currently coaching with the New Orleans Saints, but he still stays up to speed on what is happening in Dallas, and he firmly believes that the tape does not exist.

His sentiments are similar to those of Dez's family, as several relatives have said that they believe the video rumors are nothing more than an extortion attempt against Bryant.

Again, nobody has admitted to actually seeing the video, but many different sources have claimed knowledge about it, and all have agreed that it could jeopardize Bryant's career if it is ever released.
