The Cleveland Cavaliers stood pat at Thursday's NBA trade deadline, even while a host of Eastern Conference teams like Milwaukee, Detroit, and Boston made moves to solidfy their playoff pushes.
Cleveland's inaction wasn't a cause of consternation for LeBron James, however. The superstar forward told reporters after the deadline that he's still confident as ever in the team's current roster, and its ability to compete for a championship in June.
"Obviously, health is a huge thing, clicking at the right time," James said, via Cleveland.com. "The team that's clicking at the right time, is healthy at the right time, can make a huge push. I believe we can make a push to win one. Does it guarantee that? Of course not, we still gotta go out and play. But this roster can challenge any team out there."
LeBron said the team needs to not worry about who'll they be facing at season's end, but rather on the things they can specifically control.
"Those teams have more experience than us," James said. "And more chemistry than us. They've been in playoff series more than us. So we can't be worried about trying to compete against those guys. Obviously the competition, once you get out there you are competing against the individual and the team, but for us and in order for us to get where we want to be, we have to challenge ourselves.
"Because we can't catch Chicago, we can't catch Washington, we can't catch Toronto and Atlanta as far as the chemistry and playoff experience, because we haven't played one (playoff) game together so we can't be trying to catch teams."
Cleveland is 8-2 in its last ten games.
