The Brooklyn Nets are trying to reach the postseason with tanking not an option for them, and part of doing that might include dealing veteran forward Kevin Garnett. If the ultra-competitive Big Ticket is willing to exit a playoff chase, he may be in line for a feel-good reunion with the team that drafted him out of high school.

According to reports, the Minnesota Timberwolves are showing interest in trading for Garnett in what might be his final NBA season. The speculation ahead of today's trade deadline is that the Nets might bring on forward Thaddeus Young in return for the postseason push.

Garnett does have a no-trade clause and would have to approve such a deal, and has expressed little interest in leaving Brooklyn this year. Recent comments to reporters indicate that Garnett might shut these talks down.

"I haven't thought too much of my own personal [situation]," Garnett said. "When that road comes, I'll cross it and I'll deal with it. A lot of things with [my] family situation and things, it's not just convenient to get up and move, to change things. It's not as convenient as it once was when I was younger. I have a lot more responsibilities and things to take into account."

This season Garnett's production is at an all-time low. He is playing just 20.3 minutes a game and averaging 6.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Young is averaging 14.8 points and 5.1 rebounds in 33 minutes a night with Minnesota.
