The relationship between Charles Oakley and team owner James Dolan would be comical if it wasn't so messed up.

Oakley played for the Knicks for 11 season between 1988 and 1998, and was a fan favorite for his hard-nosed defense and exceptional rebounding.

However, Oakley claims he's enjoyed none of the benefits usually conferred on Knicks players in their retirement. For instance, Oakley has to buy Knicks tickets on StubHub if he wants to attend games at the Garden.

Dolan, notorious for his childlike, impulsive temper tantrums, is apparently furious with Oakley for negative comments Oakley made about the team 15 years ago. Oakley told WFAN New York radio hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton that he has no recollection of any beef with Dolan. However, he's fed up with the cold shoulder.

“As hard as I played for that motherf—-r, and he don’t want to talk with me?” Oakley said to Boomer & Carton, via CBS New York.

“Everybody in New York liked me except this one guy. Why is this? Everywhere I talk to people – ‘Why aren’t you working with the Knicks?’ I said I try to. They said, ‘What, is it Dolan?’ I talked to maybe a million people. He’s a bad guy.”
