The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs will play Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight at 9:00 p.m. in the first of three straight games at AT&T Center in San Antonio. The game will be televised on ABC and can be live streamed here. The Heat radio broadcast can be heard on 560 WQAM, while Spurs fans can hear the action on 1200 WOAI.
After dropping Game 1 thanks in large part to Tony Parker's miraculous bank shot, the Heat proved in Game 2 why they are the defending champions. LeBron James didn't shoot the ball as well as he usually does (7-of-17), and he didn't post a triple double like he did in the Game 1 loss, but he still had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
He also made the game easier for fellow star Chris Bosh and role player Mario Chalmers to step up. For the first time in 10 playoff games, Bosh reached double digits in rebounding (10) while Chalmers scored 19 points.
The Spurs entered the series as underdogs, and although they stole Game 1, Sunday night's loss looked like the kind of game many expected. The Spurs were upset about their play, but did not sound the tune of a defeated group.
"We have to play better. Definitely have to play better," Parker said. "You know, we're playing the defending champs. They're a great team. We knew they were going to come in and play with a lot more energy and play harder. That's what they did tonight."
Struggling sixth man Manu Ginobili chimed in too, saying that his team shouldn't be allowing the Heat to believe in themselves. "Of course if you look at the result, being 1-1, it's not bad. But you don't want to play like this in an NBA Finals," Ginobili said. "You don't want to give them that much confidence, and you feeling bad about yourself."
After dropping a home game, James was asked if he's worried that the Heat must play three straight on the Spurs floor.
"It doesn't matter," he said. "Two best teams in the NBA at this point. Both teams have won and can win on each other's floor. So it's not a biggie."
