The Miami Heat have struggled to find themselves a bit this season, which is what many expected when LeBron James opted to leave the franchise and return to his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers. Still, the Heat are hovering around the lower half of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, and they still have plenty of star power with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade around.

The team also still attracts its share of hecklers, though not nearly as many as when they enjoyed their recent run of success. But Wade found out during a recent game against the Charlotte Hornets that some fans still love to hate the Heat.

According to Eurweb.com, some fans were heckling Wade, specifically about his wife, actress Gabrielle Union. Wade eventually responded by giving the fans the middle finger, which is what has drawn the fine from the NBA.

"The NBA is an unbelievable league, and I'm one of the first ones to be doing NBA Cares and all these things in the community, but they need to protect us a little more," he told the Associated Press.

He later added, "They need to do a better job of protecting players in the arena. It's open game on us. We're big boys, we can take it, but everyone has their breaking point."

"You can talk about me all day," he continued. "I really don't care what you say about me because I know at the end of the day when I walk off that court most of those guys would see me in the back hallway and want to shake my hand. When it gets too personal about your family, that's too far. But it's not going to stop."
