Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, the Philadelphia Flyers (17-19-7, 41 points) and Washington Capitals (23-11-8, 54 points) face-off for the second of four meetings this season live from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Philadelphia has won three of its last four games while Washington has won two straight games to kick off a three-game homestand with the last match of it occuring tonight.

The Capitals hold the third and final automatic playoff spot in the Eastern Confrence while the Flyers are in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division are 11 points out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Confrence.

The first time these teams met, the Flyers topped the Capitals 3-2 on Jan. 8 in overtime.

The Flyers are coming off of a 7-3 drubbing of the first place Tampa Bay Lightning and will look to win their second consecutive contest.

Philadelphia forward Jakub Voracek enters the game leading the NHL with 52 points and is tied for the league lead with 35 assists. Flyers captain Claude Giroux is tied for third in the NHL with 48 points while he ranks second on the team with 48 points.

The Capitals dropped the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 on Monday to continue their solid homestand.

Nicklas Backstrom paces Washington with 42 points off of 13 tallies and 29 helpers. Captain Alex Ovechkin is second on the Capitals with 37 points off of 22 goals and 15 assists.

In net, Washington is set to turn to Braden Holtby and he is 20-8-7 with a 2.27 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage this season.

Philadelphia is set to counter with Rob Zepp, who won his first start and yielded three goals on 28 shots.
