Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET, the New York Rangers (22-11-4, 48 points) and Los Angeles Kings (19-12-9, 47 points) face-off in the first of two meetings this season live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This is a Stanley Cup Final rematch as New York visits the Staples Center for the first time since losing to Los Angeles in five games in June. It was the Kings second Stanley Cup ever and second in three years.

New York has won three straight games and 11 of 12 as it enters the second contest of a three-match road trip through California while Los Angeles has lost three of its last four and plays the second match of a lengthy seven-game road trip.

The Rangers are coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night and will look to continue their recent surge as it owns the top wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Rick Nash notched his 25th goal of the season against Anaheim and leads the Blueshirts with 39 points. Derick Brassard is second on the team with 31 points off of 11 goals and 20 assists while Martin St. Louis has 12 tallies and 18 helpers for 30 points.

The Kings are coming off of a 7-6 victory over the Nashville Predators on Saturday and own the top wild-card spot in the Western Conference. L.A. will look to stymie New York as it did last spring in the Cup Final.

Jeff Carter (11 goals, 18 assists) and Anze Kopitar (eight markers, 21 helpers) are tied for the Kings lead with 29 points while Tyler Toffoli has found the twine 12 times and added 14 assists for 26 points.

In net, Los Angeles is likely to turn to Jonathan Quick and he is 16-9-7 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

New York responds with backup Cam Talbot, who is 3-3-1 with a 2.02 GAA and a .928 save percentage.
