Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles were unceremoniously dispatched from the college football playoff when Oregon obliterated them on New Year's Day. Since then, the focus surrounding Winston has turned to whether the young quarterback will declare for the NFL draft or return to Florida State for another season.
According to ESPN, Winston's father claims that Jameis will not announce his decision about the draft until after the national title game, which will be held on Monday, January 12. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft is January 15.
Many Florida State fans have already assumed that Winston will declare for the draft, even though he has said that he will strongly consider returning to school for another year. Winston is expected to be one of the first two quarterbacks taken along with Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. Some even think that the two could be taken with the first two picks of the draft.

In his two seasons on the field for the Seminoles, Winston went 26-1 as a starter, threw for 65 touchdowns and nearly 8,000 yards, won the 2013 Heisman Memorial Trophy, and led Florida State to the final BCS National Championship over Auburn.
While Winston is considered an elite quarterback prospect, it remains to be seen if his draft stock will suffer because of his many off-the-field transgressions. Winston has been accused - though he was not charged with the crime - of raping a woman, and he served a one-game suspension during the 2014 season for yelling vulgarities in an on-campus dining hall.
