UFC 182 was headlined last night by the showdown for the light heavyweight title between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, and the match did not disappoint. Both fighters talked a big game leading up to the match and clearly dislike each other, which added another layer of intrigue to the bout.

According to ESPN, Jones won the bout by unanimous decision, and each judged scored the fight 49-46 in favor of the reigning light heavyweight champion. Cormier had a game plan coming into the fight, and he largely stuck to it, although he could not manage to pull off the victory.

Cormier was an Olympic wrestler, and he worked hard all night long to bring the fight to Jones, who wanted to exploit his massive reach advantage. "I thought there would be a feel-out period in the first round, with all the s--t they had talked," said UFC President Dana White. "There was no feel-out period in that fight. They went forward from the minute the bell rang."

After his win, Jones took some shots at Cormier and admitted that he does not like him, saying, "He's only human. DC, all the haters, all the crap he talked -- he motivated me. I took him down, what, five takedowns to zero? Sorry I'm being classless right now. I don't like DC, and that's why I'm being this way."

Cormier was more diplomatic when he spoke afterwards. "I can't say enough about his grit and determination," he said. "I pushed him and I went after him. I fought him. He did a great job. I've had to rebuild myself numerous times. People can't even imagine. I'm going to stand across the cage from that man again and I will believe, just as I did tonight, and I'll take the fight to him again."
