Los Angeles plays the final match of a three-game road trip and has lost two straight contests while Vancouver has won three of its last four games.
The Kings topped the Canucks 5-1 the first time these two teams met this season on Nov. 8.
Vancouver sits in second place in the Pacific Division heading into tonight's game while the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles is one point out of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The Kings are coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers and will look to bounce back.
Jeff Carter paces the Kings with 28 points off of 10 goals and 18 assists while Tyler Toffoli (12 tallies, 14 helpers) and Anze Kopitar (eight goals, 18 assists) each have 26 points.
The Sedin Twins have led the Canucks thus far on the campaign as Daniel Sedin has a team-best 31 points off of eight goals and 23 assists while Henrik Sedin is second with 30 points off of six markers and 24 helpers.
Radim Vrbata has found the back of the net a team-high14 times and added 12 assists for 26 points.
In net, Vancouver is slated to turn to Ryan Miller and he is 19-7-1 with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
Los Angeles will counter with Jonathan Quick and he is 15-9-7 with a 2.28 GAA and a .920 save percentage.
It's a New Years Day matchup when the Kings battle the Canucks live tonight from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
