Tonight at 5:00 p.m. ET the No. 2 Oregon Ducks (12-1) will face the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles (13-0) in the Rose Bowl, which also will be the first ever matchup of the College Football Playoff. All eyes will be on this matchup as it might play a big role in who goes No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. Oregon's Marcus Mariota, who threw for 3,783 yards, 38 touchdowns, and only two interceptions en route to winning the Heisman Trophy will battle last year's winner Jameis Winston.

The maligned FSU quarterback hasn't been able to match his dynamic 2013 campaign. This year Winston's interception total jumped from 10 to 17, while his passing touchdowns dipped from 40 to 24. Still, Winston's Seminoles made it through a second consecutive regular season unbeaten; for all of Winston's off-field controversy he has never lost a single collegiate football game.

Despite the fact that Florida State hasn't lost in two years they enter tonight's matchup as 7.5-point underdogs, largely because the offense's explosiveness has waned. Winston's yards per completion have dropped from 10.6 to 8.4, and his yards per attempt have fallen by almost a full three yards.

Mariota's led one of the most powerful offenses in the country, and he is backed up by freshman running back Royce Freeman who has amassed 16 touchdowns on the ground in 2014.
