Brian Kelly has yet to give any outright indication that he intends to leave Notre Dame. However, if he does want to make a break for the NFL, he may find a favorable reception waiting for him in the Big Apple.
The NY Daily News reported on Sunday that the Fighting Irish head coach is solidly on New York Giants owner John Mara's radar. The Giants will miss the playoffs for a third straight season and current head coach Tom Coughlin is not guaranteed to return in 2015.
"Kelly is an accomplished head coach and he's from Massachusetts. He's a perfect Mara candidate," stated the site.
In November, ESPN also reported that pro teams are intrigued by his "CEO-type" demeanor and "strengths on the offensive side of the football."

Kelly is 53, and may think that this is his 'now or never' opportunity to jump to the NFL. However, the success of individuals like Jim Harbaugh and Chip Kelly have had as first time NFL coaches provides a precedent for teams intrigued in Kelly's capabilities.
