Jay Cutler received some support this week from an unlikely source: division rival Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers quarterback spoke out about his thoughts on the way that Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer threw Cutler under the bus recently.

With 'Newsroom' Finished, Munn To Spend More Time With Rodgers?

It has been a rough week for the struggling Cutler. A news anchor suggested earlier this week that the Chicago front office should "Cut Jay Cutler or cut your wrists," and it was also announced that Cutler will be benched for this weekend's game in favor of Jimmy Clausen. While he was once a highly-touted prospect out of Notre Dame, Clausen has hardly lit the league on fire since getting drafted by the Carolina Panthers (as you may have guessed since he no longer plays for them).

When asked about Cutler's situation, Rodgers said he would have serious issues with Kromer if the same thing had happened to him. "I would have a major problem if somebody said something like that," said Rodgers. "I think anybody that plays the position, you can't help but empathize with Jay for that situation. You talk all the time about being connected, being a unit, believing in each other. But if you have unnamed sources, people out there cutting you down, and then you find out it's the person calling the plays - that would be really hard to deal with, to look at him the same way."

Manziel's Teammates Shunning Him?

"I felt for Jay that he was having to deal with that," Rodgers continued. "And I was surprised that the coach came out and admitted that it was him. I think, in general, unnamed sources are pretty gutless. But then he comes out and admits it was him. I don't think he deserves any credit for that, but it was interesting that he did."

Below, you can see the reaction after Kromer apologized for his remarks.
