Atletico Madrid are Copa Del Rey champions after beating long time rivals Real Madrid in the finals, a highliy dramatic game that saw four posts, last minute saves and Cristiano Ronaldo sent off.

Real Madrid lined up with some suprises, and arguably not the strongest line up coach Jose Mourinho could of put out in an effort to win his only silverware of the year.

Diego Lopez played in net, Pepe was dropped inf avor of Spanish international Raul Albiol in central defence next to Sergio Ramos, Michael Essien and Fabio Coentrao in the back line.

Three midfielders Luka Modric, Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso. Mezut Ozil, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema up front.

Both sides were able to scored in the first half, Madrid was able to take the lead courtesy of an outstanding header by Ronaldo off Ozil's corner but despite the goal, the game still stayed even and looked like it was going to be a battle until the end.

Diego Costa canceled out Ronaldo's goal by putting away a brilliant pass from Radamel Falcao, and the game was back to 1-1.

Joao Miranda put Atletico ahead and scored the goal that would let Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid for the first time since 1999, and win their 10th Copa Del Rey title in the clubs history.

Jose Mourinho was given a red card after arguing with referees, and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was given his first red card since joining the club for violent play.

This could have been Mourinho's last chance at a trophy with Madrid as many talks are linking him with a move away from Spain and back to England in this summer's transfer market.
