CM Punk had his wife and WWE Diva AJ Lee by his side when he announced his impending MMA debut this past Saturday at UFC 181 and the former Divas Champion commented on the proceedings.

Two Title Matches Likely For WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs

Punk announced that he signed a multi-year deal with UFC 10 months after walking out on the WWE and just barely a week removed from his groundbreaking appearance on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast.

Lee posted a tweet of her and Punk at the event while thanking UFC president Dana White and some others for having them at the event:

Lee then revealed that she had to depart from Punk's side to return to the WWE for this week's special Slammy Awards edition of Monday Night RAW in South Carolina:

Lee is up for the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year and she is going up against Paige, Nikki Bella and Brie Bella for the honor.

There are rumors that Lee will battle Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs this Sunday night at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, but the match hasn't officially been added yet.

Lee dropped the belt to Bella in a 35-second bout at last month's Survivor Series event in St. Louis.

Punk walked out on the WWE the night after the Royal Rumble in January due to the overall frustration with his creative direction as well as him disagreeing with the way the company handled his injuries and the protocol that was used for his head ailment suffered at the January event.

At the time, Lee had been dating Punk and the two had gotten engaged, but she remained with the company after he walked out. Lee then took a hiatus from April-June to move in with Punk in Chicago.

The two tied the knot sometime over the summer and Punk revealed on Cabana's podcast that he received the news that he was fired from the WWE on his wedding day.

Lee returned to the WWE in late June and was given the Divas Championship back and there haven't been any signs of Lee being mistreated by the WWE since her return.

Now that Punk spewed the dirty laundry between him and the WWE on the podcast and then signed with rival UFC, it will be interesting to see if the creative direction changes for Lee.

Punk is done with wrestling while Lee, his wife, remains an integral part of the Divas division.
