Usher: Cavs Minority Owner Hit With Nanny Suit Over Unpaid Overtime

Cleveland Cavaliers minority owner Usher has been slapped with a six-figure suit by his kid’s former nanny charging he expected her to work overtime hours without any additional pay.

According to TMZ, Cecelia Duncan alleges she agreed to work part time for the current “The Voice” coach and longtime R&B heartthrob only to soon find she was expected to work as many as 40 additional works per week without any added compensation.

Her suit also alleges that after she complained to the singer, he still refused to pay her for extra time and a year or so later she was terminated.  Her suit seeks compensation for both wrongful termination and unpaid overtime.

The 34-year-old actor, who recently signed on to play legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the upcoming movie “Hands of Stone,” has two boys and is frequently described as a doting father.

The lawsuit comes as merely the latest in a litany of embarrassing episodes surrounding the multi-platinum recording artist. His divorce and subsequent custody battle with ex-wife Tameka Foster served as fodder for the tabloids for months and just two-years ago rumors about a sex tape he was involved in being made available on the open market filled the airwaves.

TMZ later reported the video was stolen by bandits who also made off with more than $1 million in jewels and electronic equipment.

Usher was part of a group that purchased the Cavs for a reported $375 million back around the 2005 season.
