It's always a wonderful thing to see professional athletes giving back to those who are less fortunate during the holidays seasons. Such was the case this week with Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

On Tuesday night the former Heisman winner hosted his third annual holiday event, appropriately dubbed "Cam's Thanksgiving Jam." The evening provided roughly 800 underprivileged kids with a hot meal, a warm space, plenty of activities, and lasting memories with one of their favorite football players.

The Biggest Turkeys In NFL History

The Panthers blog Black & Blue Review has the statistical breakdown of Newton's proceedings, and all you can do is tip your cap to Cam for his charity. His "Jam" reportedly included over 2,500 pounds of food (amongst which were 500 pounds of potatoes and 75 turkeys). Each of the 800 kids got a take-home serving as well, packed with canned goods, chicken, and some pie.

2014's Thanksgiving NFL Picks

The Panthers aren't scheduled to play during this year's slate of Thanksgiving games, but as far as we're concerned, Cam Newton was the biggest winner on the day. Events like that are how you live up to a Superman nickname. Kudos.
