Just three months after breaking the British record for a transfer fee (£59.7 million), Manchester United are prepared to cut ties with Angel Di Maria. According to the Daily Express (via Goal Transfer Talk), the speculation has more to do with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale than Di Maria's performance at Old Trafford. Per the reports, United are considering selling the Argentine to fund a move for either of the Galacticos.

Bale is believed to be available for £90 million, which pales in comparison to the evaluation of Ronaldo's talents, said to be in the neighborhood of £200 million.

An injury (hip) to Manchester's Welsh target opened the door for both Isco and rumors at the Santiago Bernabeu. Inspired performances from the 22-year-old led many to question Bale's inclusion in the starting XI. Manager Carlo Ancelotti, however, stated Bale's importance following his return to fitness.

"Nobody should get angry because Bale deserves to play," Ancelotti said (via ESPNFC). "He is one of the best players in the world, and one of the most important players in this squad. What has changed [is not Bale's absence], but the attitude of the team without the ball."

"Now, it is easier to attack."

In five matches during Bale's absence, Madrid went an unblemished 5-0-0, outscoring opponents 16-1 in the process. That form continued upon his return. The club demolished Rayo Vallecano 5-0 in the only match before the international break.

Bale contributed one goal in 90 minutes of play.

Unfortunately for Manchester United, his importance cannot be understated. Not even a staggering £90 million will be enough to pry him from the Spanish capital.
