The Donald Sterling controversy started fading from memory as soon as the Los Angeles Clippers were sold, but Dave Chappelle still thinks Sterling got a raw deal.

It was an open secret that the NBA could not wait to move on from the bad publicity that Donald Sterling caused, and they were more than happy to sell the team to Steve Ballmer. But many were left thinking about the matter in a constitutional context.

Timberwolves Looking to Make a Deal?

Count Chappelle among the latter group. He recently sat down for a lengthy interview with GQ, and arguably the most interesting thing he said concerned his thoughts about the former owner of the Clippers. After some questions about a series of shows Chappelle did at Radio City Music Hall, the interviewer mentioned that he had done some material about Sterling and asked how Chappelle felt about the aftermath of Sterling's comments.

Chappelle answered, "Ultimately, I don't think he should have lost his team. I don't like the idea that someone could record a secret conversation and that a person could lose their assets from that, even though I think what he said was awful."

Paul, Griffin to Star in TV Show?

Chappelle went on to acknowledge that the severity of Sterling's comments made the situation a unique case. Many media outlets speculated after it became apparent that Sterling would have to sell the Clippers that the comments were merely the final nail in his proverbial coffin, as Sterling had a long history of allegedly discriminatory actions.
