The No. 1 Mississippi State Bulldogs have one of the easier matchups on Saturday as they will play the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks and not a SEC school that is looking to take their No. 1 ranking.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen spoke about being the top dog for another week and said that the crown comes with expectations that you are going to get every team’s best game. He also stressed that a team with a ton of veteran players doesn't have to make as many adjustments week in and week out.

"Whatever opportunity presents itself, winning is the most important thing," Mullen said. "Our guys have been able to do that. They've bought into that."

"With a lot of veteran players, you don't see drastic improvements from week to week," he said. "Sometimes with a young team, you'll see a big jump from one week to the next. What I want to see is slight improvements."

"Here we were trailing almost a whole game and still finding a way to win," Mullen said. "That's something we improved on ... we found a way in a different type of situation and came out on top.”

The Bulldogs will travel to No. 5 Alabama next week and then will travel to play No. 11 Ole Miss on November 29. Mississippi State will have to come away with both wins if they hope to hold onto the No. 1 ranking in the country and go to the College Football Playoff.
