The No. 23 West Virginia Mountaineers travel to Austin to take on a down and out Texas Longhorns team.

West Virginia defensive coordinator Tony Gibson spoke about the matchup with the Longhorns and said that he doesn't like the way his team matches up with his. He stressed the size of Texas and how they can create matchup that aren’t ideal for his Mountaineer team

"It's not a good matchup for us," defensive coordinator Tony Gibson said. "They're big and powerful, and they're going to try and run the ball and wear us down a little bit. We are going to have our work cut out for us.”

Texas coach Charlie Strong spoke about the matchup and said that beating a Top 25 team can swing your season in a completely positive direction and be the signature win of the 2014 season.

"This is a Top 25 team and we're going to have to do our best to beat this team," coach Charlie Strong said. "They're playing so well right now. ... We need to go finish. That's what we haven't done well is go finish. We didn't finish early against UCLA. We didn't finish against Oklahoma, and we played well against Baylor. But we need to go finish these games.”

West Virginia leads the all-time series against Texas 2-1, but the Longhorns took the 2013 edition of this matchup 47-40. The Mountaineers topped Texas in 2012 and 1956.
