Kevin Love has been tabbed as the newest senior editor of the Players' Tribune, and in his first piece he details the tumultuous offseason that ended with the star power forward being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Titled "How I Spent My Summer Vacation," Love discussed the weeks leading up to the trade, calling the process "exhausting. He opens the article by praising Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 overall pick who was the key cog in the trade that allowed Minnesota to part with its superstar.

"Things were especially tough because for a month before the trade was finalized, Wiggins and I were caught in NBA purgatory," Love wrote. "Is this happening, is this not happening? With everything up in the air, I felt like I couldn't say a proper goodbye to Minnesota. And once the trade finally went through, everything happened quickly."

He then thanked the Timberwolves organization and fans for his time with the team, and "for not burning my jersey." He even admits to struggling with maturity while in Minnesota, saying it was hard to handle failing to make the playoffs in each of his six seasons in the NBA.

Love talked about his first moments with his new teammates during their trip to Brazil for their preseason tour. "The atmosphere was totally different than what I was used to. And at that moment, a familiar feeling came over me that anybody can relate to when he's getting his bearings: It felt like the first day of school," he wrote.

While talking to teammates like LeBron James and Mike Miller, who have won NBA championships, Love realized he didn't have the mindset needed to be successful in the playoffs when he was younger. He detailed a speech James gave to the team, saying they need to be improved on the defensive end and "We have to become a family."

Love closed his article expressing his desire to win, saying he doesn't care about if his statistics take a hit while playing alongside stars like James and Kyrie Irving.

"I've never played in a playoff game," he wrote. "I came to Cleveland because I want to win. I'll grab a broom and sweep the floors if it gets me an NBA title."
