Whether right or wrong, Jimbo Fisher is sticking by Jameis Winston. And it's making the Florida State coach's everyday life a lot more stressful.

USA TODAY Sports' For the Win posted a video that AL.com did of an interview with Fisher at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club in Birmingham, Ala., (of all places).

A seemingly innocent interview with the media that began with questions about the Seminoles' 31-27 win over Notre Dame on Saturday took a decided downturn when the conversation invariably veered toward Winston's potential disciplinary hearing involving a dismissed allegation of sexual misconduct in December of 2012.

Winston also is being investigated for allegations of signing autographs for profit.

"Jimbo, any news on the disciplinary hearing with Jameis," a question came, seemingly from the cameraman who was with a reporter.

"We're moving on to Louisville, talking about other things," Fisher said. "Everything should be great."

That's when the reporter took the opportunity to delve in further into the Winston controversy, asking whether Fisher thought it was fair that his reputation had taken a hit for what the issues surrounding his Heisman Trophy quarterback.

Fisher had had enough. That's when the conversation deteriorated on both ends, making both Fisher and the reporter look bad.

"Mike, I don't want to get into all this," he said, shaking his head. "Stop it right now. ... I'm done."

Fisher then asked the reporter whether he was going to air the segment, and the reporter swore he wouldn't. Fisher was prophetic about that.

Fisher then slipped, saying, "Why is my reputation taking a hit? For backing a kid that's done nothing wrong?"

The FSU coach then told the reporter that he wasn't supposed to ask any questions about Winston, but Fisher should know that he can't control the media. He may skip invitations to any more Monday Morning Quarterback Club-type functions, but if he agrees to do them, he should be ready to say "no comment" and not make a scene.
