According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns center will miss the rest of the season due to a broken fibula.

“Browns two-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack is likely to undergo surgery season-ending surgery on his broken left fibula, a source told cleveland.com.
Mack is continuing to undergo tests to determined the extent of the injury, which might include some ligament damage, the source said.
But Mack is expected to make a full recovery and should be 100 percent for the 2015 season, the source said.”
Mack is expected to make a full recovery and rejoin the Browns next season, but this is a huge blow to a Cleveland team that was trending upward. Coach Mike Pettine said he and general manager Ray Farmer will sit down soon and hammer out where the Browns look next at center.

Mack signed a five-year, $42 million deal this offseason, making him the highest-paid center in the NFL. Mack originally signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Browns matched on the restricted free agent.
