The Kansas City Royals' thrilling AL wild-card game victory Tuesday night not only ended the Oakland A's season it wrapped up the career of slugger Adam Dunn.
The 14-year veteran announced his retirement shortly after Oakland's 9-8 extra-inning loss in Kansas City, Mo.
"I guess the computer got me," Dunn said, according to ESPN.com, referring to the A's "Moneyball" tactics.
Dunn never reached the postseason in his career until Tuesday night. And while Dunn was in uniform, he never appeared in the game.

As a result, he ranks second among major-league power hitters never to get a postseason at-bat. Only Ernie Banks [512 career home runs] sits ahead of Dunn [462 career homers]. The 34 year old ends his career with a .237 batting average and 1,168 RBIs.
