Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne is having himself a week to forget. After leaving the team facility once he was told he was benched, Claiborne was injured Sunday night and could be out for the season with a torn ACL.
Claiborne was injured in the first quarter of the Cowboys’ impressive 38-17 win over the New Orleans Saints Sunday night. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said that the injury doesn't look good, but the team will wait for the MRI results before deciding what to do with Claiborne.
"We'll get more on it, but it doesn't look good right now," Jones said. "I hope we've got a big surprise for us in the morning."
The former sixth-overall pick had a rough week with the Cowboys as he was benched earlier in the week by coach Jason Garrett. Claiborne proceeded to leave the team facility, only to return the following day. Claiborne was replaced by Orlando Scandrick, who was reinstated by the NFL in light of the new drug testing policy.

The Cowboys could also be without starting outside linebacker Bruce Carter after he pulled up short while chasing Saints running back Khiry Robinson on a 62-yard run in the fourth quarter. Carter will undergo a MRI on his right quadricep.
The Cowboys are 3-1 and will host the Houston Texans on Sunday in a battle of 3-1 Texas teams.
