Jerry Jones has been hit with a civil suit by an exotic dancer who claims that the Dallas Cowboys’ owner and general manager sexually assaulted her.
Jones' attorney Levi McCathern released a statement concerning the law suit and claims that the allegations against his client are an attempt at extortion.
Colts to Move Past Trent Richardson?
"These allegations are completely false," said McCathern. "The legal complaint is unsupported by facts or evidence of any kind. This is nothing more than an attempt to embarrass and extort Jerry Jones. This is a shakedown by a lawyer who is a solo practitioner just trying to make a name for himself. The alleged incidents would have been more than five years old.
"We intend to vigorously contest this complaint and expect it will be shown for what it is -- a money grab. Due to the seriousness of these baseless allegations, we have also involved law enforcement.”
Jana Weckerly, the woman who has filed suit against Jones, claims that Jones made her do a number of sexual acts including “grabbing her breasts, forcing her to touch his penis and watch another woman perform oral sex.” Weckerly claims that she took the photos of Jones, that leaked last month, but Jones claims that the pictures are a misrepresentation and are from 2009.
NFLPA Vote Could Reinstate Josh Gordon, Wes Welker
No criminal charges have been filed against Jones, nor have the police given the impression they plan to open an investigation. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk adds that the charges could very well be thrown out in court due to how much time has passed from the alleged date of the incident.
