No. 17 golfer in the world Dustin Johnson has taken a leave of absence from the PGA Tour due to his drug addiction. Now, Johnson’s marriage to Paulina Gretzky is jeopardy due to Wayne Gretzkys' feelings toward the golfer’s drug abuse.
According to Fox Sports, Hockey Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky warned Johnson to clean up his act and said that he wouldn’t allow him to marry his daughter of he continued abusing drugs.
“Sources tell FOX411 that the hockey great previously talked to Johnson – who is engaged to his 25-year-old model daughter, Paulina – cautioning him to clean up his act, or the wedding was off. We’re told that the family was aware of his penchant for partying, and that Wayne sought to be a positive influence, and offer help.”
Neiter Wayne nor Paulina Gretzkys’ representatives had a comment on the allegations and the couple isn't due to wed anytime soon. The couple started dating in 2012 and got engaged in August 2013. They were expected to have a Fall 2104 wedding but Johnson’s busy tour schedule interfered with the plans.
Johnson was rumored to be suspended from the PGA Tour after testing positive for drugs a third time as well as the second time for cocaine. The PGA had announced soon after that they did not suspend the golfer and accepted his leave of absence.
Johnson isn't expected to rejoin the pGA Tour anytime soon and his status with the Gretzky family is unknown.
