Shabazz Napier created waves Tuesday when it was discovered that he no longer follows LeBron James on social media. Napier commented on the situation Wednesday saying that it was done without his knowledge and he doesn’t know how Twitter works.

Napier is the Miami Heat’s rookie point guard out of the University of Connecticut and LeBron’s favorite player in the entire draft. After James called Napier his favorite player in college basketball, the Heat made it a point to acquire the UConn product in an attempt to sway LeBron to stay in Miami.

Of course, LeBron left the Heat for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Napier took to his Twitter account to end his limited relationship with James. Napier now says that he doesn't control his Twitter page and that any actions on the page toward LeBron were not his.

"The whole thing about that is I don't know how to work Twitter yet and I'm not on my Twitter, so I don't know where that came from," Napier said.

All of Napier’s tweets to or from James were deleted as well, but again Napier claimed no knowledge of the page's activity.

"I don't pay attention to it," Napier said. "It gets brought to me by family members, but I don't pay any attention to it. I just think it's how it is. Media wants something to bite on.”

Napier joined Twitter on June 25, the day he was drafted by the Miami Heat. It is completely possible that Napier doesn't know how to use Twitter, but the fact that all of the tweets involving James were deleted is suspicious. Napier has only tweeted five times and only has two “favorite” tweets, but one of them is the tweet from LeBron on draft night that says “My favorite player in the draft! #Napier.”
