The Brooklyn Nets can finally put this nightmare of a week behind them as they have signed Lionel Hollins to a multiyear deal to become the teams next head coach. Hollins was the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies before being fired in 2013, but now lands in Brooklyn with the Nets.

The Nets hired Hollins only days after trading former head coach Jason Kidd to the Milwaukee Bucks for a second round pick in 2015 and 2019. Kidd was shipped out of town after his attempts to gain more power in the front office fell on deaf ears. Reports are that Kidd and Nets ownership had a disagreement that ended with Kidd burning his bridges in the organization to a point where he could no longer work their

Hollins has to be considered a improvement for the Nets as he has had years of success in a much more difficult Western Conference. Hollins and the Grizzlies finished 56-26 in his last season with the team and hosts a career record of 214-201.

Hollins deal with the Nets is expected to be for $4 million per season, but the number of years on the contract remains to be seen.
