The Toronto Raptors are hoping to outbid all would-be suitors in hopes of keeping free agent guard Kyle Lowry.

Coming off a career-year where he averaged 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Lowry ranks as arguably the hottest backcourt commodity among this summer's list of free agents. The Heat, Lakers and Rockets have all expressed an interest in landing the 28-year-old, eight-year veteran.

ProbasketballTalk.com reported the Raptors plan to pursue Lowry as soon as the free agency period officially opens on July 1, however, and are willing to offer him up to $12 million per season over four to five years.

Kyle Lowry on Knicks radar?

Lowry was Toronto's second-leading scorer this season and led the team in assists, as the Raptors surprised many by finishing as the Eastern Conference's No. 3 seed with 48 wins.

Also known as a defensive spark-plug, Lowry averaged two steals. Lowry has scored in double figures over his last four seasons, averaging better than 14 points to go along with seven assists and four rebounds. Lowry is also looked upon favorably based on his ability to create shots for himself and run an offense.

Lakers want Kyle Lowry

Lowry recently hinted that winning is what's most important to him at this point in his career, telling reporters "I'm happy with making the playoffs and doing that, but the end game for all players should be a championship and that's what I want to play for. I want to play for a championship."
