One of Aaron Hernandez's former New England Patriots teammate boldly admits he still supports the former NFL star as he faces three first-degree murder charges and two upcoming trials.

"I want to tell him that he has somebody that's on his side that's praying for him," Kevin Faulk told CBSLocal.com of Hernandez, who has been called "a monster" by prosecutors. "You're not going to make me believe that he's a monster because you used those type of words."

The 24-year-old Hernandez remains jailed and held without bail at the Bristol County Jail in connection with the "execution-style" slaying of one-time associate Odin Lloyd. Police have speculated Hernandez may have killed Lloyd because of his knowledge about other violent crimes he is suspected of having been involved in and more recently the former Florida star was also fingered as the triggerman in the 2012 drive-by killings of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu outside a downtown Boston nightclub.

Tats hold clues in Aaron Hernandez case?

"You get questioned all the time, 'Do you think your boy did it?'" said Faulk , who was teammates with Faulk for two years beginning in 2010. "No, I don't want him to have done it, no. So if you want me to say no, then no, I don't think he did it. At the same time, anybody can be pushed to do something drastic like that, if they push you to that point."

Since being incarcerated, Hernandez has also been criminally charged with threatening to kill a prison guard and his family.
