The Baltimore Ravens and Elvis Dumervil have agreed to a multiyear contract. A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Dumervil's agreement is a five-year, $35 million deal including $8.5 million in the first year.

Dumervil's agreement to join the Ravens was earlier reported by the Denver Post. Dumervil became a free agent earlier this month after he was released by the Denver Broncos after failing to send the paperwork of his restructured contract back in time to the team by the 4:00 p.m. ET deadline. He agreed to reduce his salary from $12 million to $8 million.

Dumervil signed a six-year, $61.5 million contract in 2010. He had 11 sacks last season, second on the team to Von Miller. Dumervil led the league with 17 sacks in 2009 before agreeing to re-sign with Denver.

Baltimore finally makes a splash in an offseason that has seen them lose multiple starters. Following the retirement of linebacker Ray Lewis and Center Matt Birk, Baltimore agreed to trade wide receiver Anquan Boldin to San Francisco just before the start of free agency. Baltimore lost linebackers Dannell Ellerbe. Paul Kruger and Ed Reed in free agency, as well as releasing defensive back Bernard Pollard and guard Bobbie Williams.
