The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement with former Jets running back Shonn Greene on Wednesday. Tennessee finalized a three-year, $10 million contract to make Greene the backup for Chris Johnson.

The Jets didn't see Greene as a fit in their new West Coast offense and made little effort to re-sign him. The Titans chose the bruising back as a perfect complement to the speed of Johnson. The Titans have made multiple moves to bolster their offense, signing offensive guard Andy Levitre and tight end Delanie Walker on Tuesday.

Greene rushed for 1,054 and 1,063 yards the last two seasons. He also led the Jets with eight touchdowns in 2012.

His departure leaves the Jets with no preivous 1,000-yard rusher for the first time since 1994. Since 1988, the Jets enjoyed premier backs including Hall of Famer Curtis Martin, Thomas Jones and future Hall of Famer LaDanian Tomlinson.

The Jets current depth chart includes Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight, who have a combined total of 960 yards.
